Aura Mercedes Melo Salas

Aura Mercedes Melo Salas, born on September 24, 1966, in Santo Domingo Dominican Republic, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. Aura was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished sister whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. Aura was the best cook, dancer, stylist and creative with her arts and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Julio Cesar Melo and Graciela De Salas.

Aura is survived by her children: Steven Manuel Melo, Jessica Johnson Melo, Joseph Junior De Leon, Sandra Christina Garcia-Melo Kacprzyk, and Mieczyslaw Marian Kacprzyk. She was a proud grandmother to Jelina M. Melo, Damian J. Cruz Garcia, and Dominic A. Kacprzyk Garcia.

She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Julia A. Melo, Rosa J. Melo, and Gladys Aponte (Melo), along with her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Aura’s legacy of faith, love, compassion, and strength will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
