Janina Nabial

March 25, 1932 — April 17, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Janina Nabial, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her family and community. Born on March 25, 1932, Janina departed from this world on April 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering devotion.

Janina’s life was a testament to strength and kindness, qualities that enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a devoted mother to her children Barbara (Marek), Marzena (Jurek), Ryszard, and Robert, whose lives she nourished with endless care and guidance. Her nurturing spirit extended gracefully to her grandchildren—Kinga (Marcin), Kasia (Chris), Annette (Jakub), and Kevin—who were a constant source of joy and pride. The great-grandchildren, Daria (Darek), Micolody, Lena, Bartek, and Kornelia, were precious to Janina, who delighted in their laughter and innocence. She was also lovingly connected to many nieces and nephews who held her dear.

Janina’s journey was marked by deep familial bonds as well as sorrow. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wladyslaw, whose memory she treasured, and her brother Stefan, who shared in her early days and heartaches. Though these losses left spaces in her life, Janina's heart remained steadfast and full of love for those who continued by her side.

The family will gather to honor Janina’s memory with a visitation on April 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pietryka Funeral Home, located at 5734 W Diversey Ave in Chicago, Illinois. A Mass to celebrate her life will be held the following day, April 24, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ferdinand, 5900 West Barry Avenue in Chicago. Following the Mass, Janina will be laid to rest with interment at Eden Memorial in Schiller Park, Illinois, with the service beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Janina Nabial will be remembered not only for her enduring love and dedication to her family but also for the quiet grace and strength with which she faced life’s challenges. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved her—a beautiful, abiding presence that will continue to inspire and comfort.

As family and friends come together to mourn this profound loss, they also celebrate a life that touched so many with kindness, faith, and an unshakable resilience. Janina’s memory is a precious gift, one that will forever illuminate the paths of her loved ones. She will be deeply missed, eternally treasured, and forever remembered.
