It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ryszard Wiklanski, affectionately known as Richard, who departed this life on November 3, 2024, at the age of 65. Richard was a devoted husband to Christine (nee Zachemski whose unwavering love and support defined his life. Together, they crafted a beautiful life filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be held close to the hearts of their family.

Born on July 23, 1959, Richard was the beloved son of the late Jozef and the late Janina Wiklanski. He took immense pride in his family heritage, instilling the values he learned in his own children. Richard was a loving father to Robert Wiklanski and Marcie (Graham) Hirschberg, who brought him overwhelming joy and pride. As a grandfather, he cherished his time with Gracie and Oliver Hirschberg, delighting in every moment spent watching them grow and flourish.

Richard's spirit will also be deeply missed by his siblings, who shared lifelong bonds and memories with him. He was a dear brother to Jadwiga (Chester) Nowicki and Zofia (Eugeniusz) Lazowski, both of whom fondly remember the laughter and love that filled their childhood. Additionally, he was a loving brother-in-law to Mary (Lester) Lupa, Joseph (Rosa) Zachemski, and Donna (Ivan) Colorato. Richard’s affection extended to his many nieces and nephews, all of whom have been touched by his kindness and generosity.

Richard's legacy is one of love, community, and friendship. He was cherished not only as a family member but also as a dear friend to many, always ready with a comforting word or helping hand. His presence lit up every room he entered, and his laughter was infectious.

As loved ones gather to remember him, there will be a visitation on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pietryka Funeral Home, located at 5734 W Diversey Ave, Chicago, IL. A Mass celebrating Richard's life will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024, at St. Rosalie Church in Harwood Heights at 10:30 AM. Following the service, his earthly remains will be laid to rest at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, IL, at 12:00 PM.

May his memory continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him, bringing comfort during this profoundly difficult time. Richard Wiklanski, a beacon of love and kindness, will be forever remembered and greatly missed.
